Monday

• Reading 8 (Odd): Students will read Act 2, scenes 2/3 of Anne Frank. They will also work on the study guide questions with a partner.

•  Reading 7: As a class, we will discuss the three poems from yesterday’s class together. Students will then begin working on the next set of poems by Lewis Carroll, Frost, and Brooks.

• Practical Literature 12: Students will continue reading “Beowulf” together as a class. Students will also complete study guide questions as we read.

Tuesday

• Reading 8 (Even): Students will read Act 2, scenes 2/3 of Anne Frank. They will also work on the study guide questions with a partner. They must turn in the Part C individual responses for scenes 1 and 2 of Act 2 next class period.
• Reading 7: Students will discuss the two poems from yesterday that they read in the textbook. We will discuss the questions for each of these poems together. Students will then complete a review section on poetry in the textbook on pages 684 – 685 and pages 712 – 715. The poetry test will be on Thursday.
•  Practical Literature 12: Students will read “Beowulf” while using talking to text method in order to take notes while reading. They will complete the study guide questions as well.

Wednesday

• Reading 8 (Odd): Students will read Act 2, scene 4. They will also work on completing the study guide for Act 2. They must turn in the Part C individual responses for scenes 1 and 2 of Act 2 next class period.
• Reading 7: As a class, we will check answers to the review sections together. We will discuss responses in preparation for a test on poetry. Students will then begin working on a practice PSSA lesson on poetry in preparation for the PSSA Reading test.
• Practical Literature 12: Students will read “Beowulf” while using talking to text method in order to take notes while reading. They will complete the study guide questions as well.

Thursday

• Reading 8 (Even): Students will read Act 2, scene 4. They will also work on completing the study guide for Act 2. Part C individual prompt responses for scenes 1 and 2 of Act 2 are due today.

• Reading 7: Students will take a test on poetry today. When finished, students will continue working on the practice PSSA lesson on poetry. This packet is due tomorrow.

• Practical Literature 12: Students will read “Beowulf” while using talking to text method in order to take notes while reading. Students will work on study guide questions for each section of reading.

Friday

•  Reading 8 (Odd): Students will continue reading Anne Frank together. They will also work on the study guide with partners. Part C individual prompt responses for scenes 1 and 2 of Act 2 are due today.

•  Reading 7: As a class, we will review the practice PSSA lesson on poetry together today. We will examine student responses and discuss the open-ended prompt together. Students will then be given sample responses to examine. We will analyze each response and the score it received and why. Students will then work on a second lesson individually.

• Practical Literature 12: Students will read “Beowulf” while using talking to text method in order to take notes while reading. Students will work on study guide questions for each section of reading.
