Monday (05/06): Finish Holocaust Memorial project presentations.
·         * Independent Reading Assignment - Students will go to the library today to choose a fiction novel for their reading assignment. They must have a book in class for tomorrow. They may bring their own or check one out of our library. Students will read their independent novel and choose one of the three projects to complete based on the book they are reading. The project is due May 31st.
S  * Students can complete the Study Island topics for May for extra credit, but they are not required to complete them for a class grade.

Tuesday (05/07): Begin unit 4 (Human Intelligence) – read anchor text (The Human Brain) and complete the summary and quickwrite on pages 346-347. Begin reading excerpt from “Flowers for Algernon.”

Wednesday (05/08): Read “Flowers for Algernon” together and annotate/discuss.
·         - Independent Reading assignment

Thursday (05/09):  Read “Flowers for Algernon” together and annotate/discuss.

Monday (04/08): Elie Weizel – Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech (p. 223). Students will listen to the audio of the speech and complete/discuss the practice worksheets for each section. Test is Wednesday on this selection.
·         Study Island – Individual practice session on Text Structure (due Tuesday).

Tuesday (04/09): Discuss/review practice worksheets for Elie Wiezel speech. Test is tomorrow on this selection. Students can use the textbook and the practice worksheets for the test.
·         Study Island – Individual practice on text structure (due end of day today).

Wednesday (04/10): Selection test – Elie Wiezel – Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech. Students will also complete test corrections when finished with the test on Pearson Realize.
·         Study Island – Individual practice on context clues in informational texts (due Thursday).

Thursday (04/11):  TDA review. View practice questions on benchmark test (active vs. passive voice) and discuss key ideas. PSSA Jeopardy review game.
·         Study Island – Individual practice on context clues in informational texts (due by end of day today).

Friday (04/12): PSSA Jeopardy review game. PSSA Kahoot review game.
·         Study Island – Work on individual practice on any topics that still need to be completed.
