Monday
·         Academic English 9 – Check vocabulary definitions; review definitions, worksheet, and sentences for vocab. lesson 17A. Students will also analyze Act 5, scene 3 of R. and J. by discussing the study guide questions as a class.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will complete the Act 5 study guide questions for Hamlet together in small groups and we will review these as a class together. Students will also review for a quiz on Act 5 of Hamlet together as a class by playing a review game. Quiz on Act 5 is tomorrow. Students will also discuss character foils for Hamlet and the definition of a foil.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will continue the session on entrepreneurship by discussing notes as a class and in small groups and by completing group activities on this topic.

Tuesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will watch the remainder of the new R. and J. version and take notes on a venn diagram to highlight the similarities and differences between the two versions of the film. Students will also be given a writing assignment to do for homework. We will discuss the requirements for the essay today and the due date.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will take a quiz on act 5 of Hamlet. When finished, students will be introduced to a writing assignment on Hamlet. Students will discuss the requirements of the assignment and the due date. Students will also begin brainstorming and working on the rough draft today in class.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will begin the next session on “the art of budgeting” by discussing notes and completing group and individual activities on goals.

Wednesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on Act 5 of R. and J. Students will also turn in the last study guide sheet for Act 5 today. If not already finished, students will finish watching the new version of Romeo and Juliet to compare/contrast. Students will also complete a lesson on verbs and prepositions (prep. Phrases) in the grammar book in small groups (if time permits).

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will be introduced to the novel, “Of Mice and Men” by discussing the setting of the novel and the author, John Steinbeck. Students will begin reading chapters 1 and 2 together as a class. Students will also complete the study guide questions for chapters 1 and 2.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will continue discussing budgeting and the purposes of it by taking notes and discussing these together. Students will also set up a personal budget for themselves and rework a budget by completing the worksheets given to them.
Thursday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on Vocabulary lesson 17A and then define the terms for lesson 17B. Students will also be given the worksheet to complete for lesson 17B and write sentences for this lesson on their own. When finished, students will work on a lesson from the grammar book together in groups on verbs and prepositions (prep. Phrases) and we will discuss the lesson together as a class.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will continue reading “Of Mice and Men” together as a class (chapter 3) and students will complete the study guide questions in small groups. Students will also watch scenes from chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the movie, “Of Mice and Men” to compare/contrast with the novel.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will take a quiz on “the art of budgeting.” Students will then discuss banking services and discuss how to choose a checking account that’s best for them. As a class, we will discuss banking and related items. Students will also complete the “reading a bank statement” student handout.
Friday
·          Academic English 9 – Students will work on a grammar lesson from the book on run-on sentences, sentence fragments, conjunctions, and interjections together in small groups and we will discuss these topics as a class as well. Students will complete a practice lesson for homework on these grammar topics.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will read chapters 4 and 5 of “Of Mice and Men” by listening to the audiobook together while following along in the book. Students will also discuss the study guide questions for these chapters.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will discuss modules 1, 2, 3, and 4 of “financial football.” Students will discuss expenses, assets, liabilities, interest rates, credit cards, and building a budget. Students will also discuss how “financial football” is played online in preparation to begin next week.
