8/27: Diagnostic Test on Study Island and begin topic 1 (Synonyms and Antonyms)
8/28: Continue and finish topic 1.
8/29: Topic 2 (Affixes and Roots) 
8/30: Continue topic 2 (affixes and roots)

ELA 8: 8-26-19 to 8-30-19

ELA 8

Monday (8/26): Welcome back! Classroom rules and expectations, parent letters, course overview, about me bubble name activity, team-building/communication activity.

Tuesday (8/27):  About me bubble name activity – finish and begin introductions. Each day, a few students will share their poster with the class as a way to introduce themselves. Assign iPad numbers and log onto Study Island to begin Benchmark test 1. Students will also receive a paper copy of the Benchmark test.

Wednesday (8/28): Introductions with About Me Bubble Poster. Continue Study Island Benchmark test. When finished, students will begin the Pearson Beginning of Year test on Pearson Realize.com. Each student will fill in scores on their student data sheet. Their last PSSA score will also be recorded on this data sheet.

Thursday (8/29): Introductions with About Me Bubble Poster. Students will finish the Study Island test (if needed at this point) and work on the Pearson Beginning of Year test until they finish all questions. Once they finish the test on Pearson, students will write down their areas of need and strength as well as their test score on their data sheet.

Friday (8/30): Introductions (finish introductions that are still left) with About Me Bubble Poster. Pep rally at 1:30 p.m. Students will work on the Pearson Beginning of Year test until finished.
