·         PSSA English 9/10 – Even Day Groups – Complete lesson 17 from the grade 11 PSSA book and discuss lessons 15, 16, and 17.

·         English 7 – Review checkup section from textbook in preparation for the test on Wednesday on pronouns.

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Complete lesson 17 from the grade 11 PSSA book and discuss lessons 15, 16, and 17.

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups  – Students will attend the volleyball tournament in the gymnasium to support their fellow classmates in the competition.

·         PSSA English 9/10 – Odd Day Groups – Students will work from the PSSA book on lessons 15 and 16 (analyzing characterization and analyzing dialogue and motivation).

·         English 7 – Review notes on demonstrative pronouns; independent practice with demonstrative pronouns; notes on indefinite pronouns; independent practice with indefinite pronouns

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will work from the PSSA book on lessons 15 and 16 (analyzing characterization and analyzing dialogue and motivation).
Wednesday
·         English 7 – Jeopardy review game; review any homework from yesterday; notes on reflexive and intensive pronouns and homophones; practice identifying intensive and reflexive pronouns and homophones

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups  – Students will discuss the previous lessons completed from the book (14, 15, 16). Students will then work on lesson 17 in the PSSA book (analyzing plot).

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups Students will discuss the previous lessons completed from the book (14, 15, 16). Students will then work on lesson 17 in the PSSA book (analyzing plot).
Friday
·         English 7 – Review any homework for today on pronouns. Students will also practice identifying homophones/reflexive and intensive pronouns (if necessary); complete notes for subject and object pronouns and for pronouns in compound subjects and objects; practice together as a class and independently

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will finish working on lesson 17 in the PSSA book and, as a class, we will discuss the lesson and any difficulties with it. Students will then read a passage provided to them and complete an open-ended question by following the formula established at the start of the semester. Students will use talking to text notes as they read the passage.

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will go to the library to type their final copies of the informational essay and upload them to an online wiki.

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will begin to write their rough draft of an informational 5 by 5 essay. Students will write the rough draft in class based on a prompt given to them. Completed rough draft is due in class on Thursday.
Wednesday
·         English 7 – Jeopardy review game for vocabulary unit 11; students will then read a short story called, “Names/Nombres” together as a class; students will complete worksheets that go along with the story for Friday

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups  – Students will begin to write their rough draft of an informational 5 by 5 essay. Students will write the rough draft in class based on a prompt given to them. Completed rough draft is due in class on Friday.
Thursday
·         English 7 – Students will take a quiz on vocabulary unit 11; students will then finish working with the story, “Names/Nombres”, by Julia Alvarez; students will complete the packet for the story and begin discussing the next 5 by 5 essay assignment

·         PSSA English 9/10 – Odd Day Groups – Students will finish lesson 14 in the PSSA book on narratives. Students will then begin working on lesson 15 in the PSSA book on characterization.
Tuesday
·         English 7 – Students will take a test on vocabulary units 6-10; students will then begin working on the definitions, worksheet, and sentences for unit 11; Unit 11 work is due when we come back from the Thanksgiving break

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will finish lesson 14 in the PSSA book on narratives. Students will then begin working on lesson 15 in the PSSA book on characterization.
Wednesday
·         English 7 – Students will view a film and identify examples of bullying throughout the film. Students will write a response discussing the effects of bullying in school’s today.

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – ½ day for students; Students will watch a film and identify examples of bullying throughout the film. Students will discuss the effects of bullying in today’s schools.

·         English 7 – Review pronouns and antecedents by completing a worksheet independently and a section in the textbook independently; students will write clearly using pronouns correctly in sentences and paragraphs by completing a worksheet and section in the book independently; students will also identify and discuss personal pronouns by writing notes and completing practice exercises

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups  – Students will continue working on lesson 14 in the PSSA book (11th grade). Students will then discuss the lesson as a class and continue with lesson 15 in the book (lesson on characterization).

·         English 7 – Finish reviewing for the test on nouns, which will be tomorrow. Students will turn in all review work completed from the textbook. Review new vocabulary worksheet and sentences.

·         PSSA English 9/10 – Even Day Groups – Discuss the summaries written for newspaper articles from last week. As a class, we will also discuss the New York Times article and questions that followed. Students will choose an article from the newspaper to read critically while taking notes using talking to the text method of note-taking. Students will then write their own multiple choice questions based on the article that they read. They will also write one open-ended question for the article. When students finish with their questions, they will exchange them with a partner and answer the questions presented about the article after reading it.
Tuesday
·         English 7 – Students will take a unit test on the different types of nouns explored throughout the unit. When finished, students will complete a journal entry (Write about a mistake you once made and what you learned from it.)

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Discuss the summaries written for newspaper articles from last week. Students will then complete lesson 14 in the 11th grade PSSA book (Strategies and Skills for Reading Narratives for Appreciation).

They will summarize the article and list the facts (5 W’s). Students will then also find one article of their choice that includes both facts and opinions. Students will summarize the article and identify the facts and opinions with the article. Students will share their summaries out loud with the class.
