Monday
·         Academic English 9 – Check vocabulary definitions; review definitions, worksheet, and sentences for vocab. lesson 10B. Students will also review the study guide questions from Act 1, scene 1 together in preparation for a quiz tomorrow on scene 1.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will review for a quiz on Act 1 and the literary terms together as a class. Students will also finish watching scenes from Act 1 in the movie, The Crucible.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will take the first part of the TABE test (Reading) today. Students will respond to reading questions on the answer sheet provided.

Tuesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on Act 1, scene 1 of R. and J. As a class, we will also continue reading the play together. We will begin reading scene 2 and students will respond to study guide questions for this scene as we read.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will take a quiz on Act 1 of The Crucible and the literary terms from the play. Students will then be given a writing prompt to respond to regarding Puritan beliefs and how they can be applied to our world today. Students will work on writing the rough draft in class today.

·         Y.E.S. -  Students will take the second part of the TABE test (Math) today. Students will respond to reading questions on the answer sheet provided.

Wednesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will continue to read scene 2 of Romeo and Juliet together and students will work in groups to complete the study guide questions.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will finish writing their rough draft and peer edit these in order to begin writing the final copy of their essay. Final copies are due by Friday.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will finish discussing group development and the stages that exist within it. As a class, we will then continue on to session three, which is “effective meeting skills.” Students will participate in a group activity and discuss the results together as a class.
Thursday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on Vocabulary lesson 10B and then define the terms for lesson 11A. Students will also be given the worksheet to complete for lesson 11A and write sentences for this lesson on their own. As a class, we will also discuss verbs and students will take notes on verbs and complete practice exercises in the textbook.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will begin reading Act 2 of the play, The Crucible, together as a class. Students will also work together in pairs to answer the study guide questions for Act 2.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will discuss and take notes on effective meeting strategies. Students will review the activity from yesterday and recall the results of the activity. Students will also begin session four (Problem Solving). In groups, students will discuss barriers to problem solving and using teams as a problem-solving tool.
Friday
·          Academic English 9 – Students will finish reading scene 2 together and, as a class, we will discuss the study guide questions for scene 2. Students will review for a quiz on scene 2, which will be Monday. Students will also be assigned a “Facebook” project to complete for next week.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will continue reading Act 2 of The Crucible together. Students will be assigned parts to read. Students will work together to complete the study guide questions.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will complete the “starbursting activity” to explore this method of problem solving. Students will also take notes on problem solving and discuss problem solving techniques together as a class.
