January 30, 2012 - February 3, 2012

Monday
·         Academic English 9 – Check vocabulary definitions; review definitions, worksheet, and sentences for vocab. lesson 10A. Students will also discuss the homework assignments from Friday (Shakespeare vocabulary sheets). Students will discuss the literary terms and other vocabulary terms for Romeo and Juliet together as a class.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will continue reading The Crucible together as a class with assigned parts. Students will also work together in pairs to complete study guide questions for Act 1.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will continue with the first module on teamwork. They will take notes on behavioral styles and discuss these as a class. Students will also assess where they fall on the scale of different communication styles. Students will then discuss and take notes on the four styles of behavior and determine which style best fits them. Students will read about the style they fall into and discuss what is important to learn about each style.

Tuesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will review the worksheet completed last week on Shakespeare’s life and career. As a class, we will discuss student responses to these questions. Students will also be assigned to parts in the play and read act 1, scene 1 together. Students will answer study guide questions as we read scene 1.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will continue to read Act 1 of The Crucible by following along with the audio book. Students will also work together in small groups to complete the study guide questions for Act 1. Students will then review for the quiz on Act 1 together as a class.

·         Y.E.S. -  Students will continue with the teamwork module and continue taking notes on behavioral styles from yesterday. We will finish session one and continue on to session two, which is team effectiveness. Students will work in groups to discuss what the difference is between a group and a team. As a class, we will discuss these together. Students will also take notes on team effectiveness and complete a team effectiveness activity as a class.

Wednesday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will continue to read scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet together and students will work in groups to complete the study guide questions. Students will have a quiz on scene 1 on Friday.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will take a quiz on Act 1 of The Crucible. Students will also continue reading Act 2 of the play together as a class with assigned parts. Students will work on completing the study guide questions as they read together.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will take notes on conflict and will discuss how to resolve conflict within groups.
Thursday
·         Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on Vocabulary lesson 10A and then define the terms for lesson 10A. Students will also be given the worksheet to complete for lesson 10B and write sentences for this lesson on their own. When finished, students will work on finishing the study guide for scene 1 and review for the quiz on scene 1.

·         Practical Literature 11 –  Students will continue reading act 2 of the play while listening to the audio book version also. Students will also work together to discuss and respond to the study guide questions for act 2.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will continue working on “how to resolve conflict” within groups. Students will complete a group activity on resolving conflict and as a class, we will discuss the results of the activity together.
Friday
·          Academic English 9 – Students will take a quiz on scene 1 of R and J. Students will then continue reading R. and J. together as a class with assigned parts for scene 2. Students will work together in groups on the study guide questions for scene 2.

·         Practical Literature 11 – Students will continue reading Act 2 of The Crucible together. Students will be assigned parts to read. Students will work together to complete the study guide questions.

·         Y.E.S. - Students will complete an activity to determine the difference between groups and teams. Students will discuss their group’s responses to the activity and will take notes as a class.
