Monday
  • Academic English 8 – Continue work on verbs packet (auxiliary verbs). (Essential Question: How do verbs function and how do we use them effectively in our spoken and written language?)

  • Academic English 7 – Quiz on verbs (first four sections), begin working on unit 12 vocabulary packet. Vocab. 12 packet due Thursday, vocab. Quiz on Friday. (Essential Question: How do verbs function within a sentence to help us effectively communicate and how do we know when to correctly use different types of verbs?)

(Essential Question: How is the play, “The Crucible” related to our modern society and what parallels exist between the play and the “Red Scare” of the 1950s?)

  • Honors Reading 7 – Review RACERS prompt from Friday on the short story, The Third Wish. Review for short story test. Test is tomorrow. Short story LDC task related to the big question of the unit. We will discuss the directions together. Essay due on Friday, March 13th. (Essential Question: What are the elements of short stories and how do these elements enhance short stories?)

Tuesday

Students will watch a part of the movie, “Dead Poet’s Society” and discuss what poetry is to them. We will discuss the essential question for the poetry unit also. (Essential Question: What are the elements of poetry and how do these elements enhance poems and add to their overall meaning?)

Wednesday
  • Academic English 8 – Quiz on auxiliary verbs. Finish any section in the verbs packet that was missed and begin reviewing for the verbs test, which will be on Friday. (Essential Question: How do verbs function and how do we use them effectively in our spoken and written language?)
