October 25 - October 29

Monday
·         English 7 – Review new vocabulary worksheet and sentences that were for homework for unit 7; review possessive nouns together by completing worksheet

·         PSSA English 9/10 – Even Day Groups – Students will complete the open-ended question in the book on the poem that they read, and then trade responses with each other. Students will use the grading rubric provided to score their partner’s response accordingly and provide a written explanation of why the student earned the given score. Students will then complete lessons 18-21 in the book for independent PSSA practice.
Tuesday
·         English 7 – Work independently on written exercises in book on appositives; notes on appositives; notes on collective and compound nouns and begin practice exercises in book

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Discuss talking to text notes on passages from last class and responses to questions; students will then move on to chapter 2 in the book and complete lessons 1 – 3 (Differentiating fact from opinion and differentiating essential vs. non-essential information).
Wednesday
·         English 7 – Jeopardy review game; review homework on collective and compound nouns

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups  – Discuss talking to text notes on passages from last class and responses to questions; students will then move on to chapter 2 in the book and complete lessons 1 – 3 (Differentiating fact from opinion and differentiating essential vs. non-essential information).
Thursday
·         English 7 – Vocabulary quiz for unit 7; unit 8 – complete definitions, worksheet, sentences

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Review lessons 1-3 in chapter 2 together. Students will then use the newspaper to find one article that includes only facts and no opinions. They will summarize the article and list the facts (5 W’s). Students will then also find one article of their choice that includes both facts and opinions. Students will summarize the article and identify the facts and opinions with the article. Students will share their summaries out loud with the class.
Friday
·         English 7 – Review vocab. on PPT; review unit on nouns – kinds of nouns (concrete/abstract, common/proper), singular and plural, collective and compound, exact nouns, appositives, and possessive nouns; students will complete review exercises for each set of nouns as a review for the test next week

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Review lessons 1-3 in chapter 2 together. Students will then use the newspaper to find one article that includes only facts and no opinions.
