Monday

·         English 7 – Review new vocabulary worksheet and sentences that were for homework for unit 6; literature book – review the short story read on Friday and complete the worksheets on cause and effect, conflict, and vocabulary.

·         PSSA English 9/10 – Odd Day Groups – Review and discuss lessons 13-16 in PSSA book. Discuss meter, rhyme, rhythm, and literary devices used within the poem. Review the questions for lessons 13-16. Review the sample PSSA poem and questions that go with it. We will discuss the open-ended responses also. Students will then complete the next section, “What’s expected on the PSSA” in the book.

Tuesday

·         English 7 – Finish work on short story if not fully completed yesterday; review homework worksheets from last week; notes on possessive nouns; complete exercises in book on possessive nouns; worksheet on possessives

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Review and discuss lessons 13-16 in PSSA book. Discuss meter, rhyme, rhythm, and literary devices used within the poem. Wednesday

·         English 7 – Jeopardy review game; review homework; discuss appositives and complete exercise in the book

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups  – Discuss “what’s expected on the PSSA” section of the book; complete lessons 18-21 in the book for independent PSSA practice.

Thursday

·         English 7 – Vocabulary quiz for unit 6; unit 7 – definitions, worksheet, sentences

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Discuss “what’s expected on the PSSA” section of the book; complete lessons 18-21 in the book for independent PSSA practice.

Friday

·         English 7 – Review vocab. on PPT; notes on collective and compound nouns; complete exercises in book on nouns; exact nouns – notes and discuss and complete exercise in book

·         PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Discuss talking to text notes on passages from last class and responses to questions; students will then move on to chapter 2 in the book and complete lessons 1 – 3 (Differentiating fact from opinion and differentiating essential vs. non-essential information).
