Monday
• English 7 – Students will take a test on prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections; when finished, students will complete a journal entry and turn in their journals to be graded; if time permits, we will begin reviewing vocab. #28 packet
• PSSA English 9/10 – Odd Day Groups - Students will finish lesson 15 from the PSSA grade 11 book on analyzing characterization; as a class, we will discuss the elements of the lesson (p. 132-137); students will then complete lesson 16 in the PSSA book on analyzing dialogue and motivation (p. 138-143)
Tuesday
• English 7 – Review vocabulary packet for unit 28 – Students will review the definitions, worksheet, and sentences for the vocab. #28 packet; finish test on prepositions, conjunctions, interjections if necessary today for any students who did not finish yesterday
• PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will finish lesson 15 from the PSSA grade 11 book on analyzing characterization; as a class, we will discuss the elements of the lesson (p. 132-137); students will then complete lesson 16 in the PSSA book on analyzing dialogue and motivation (p. 138-143)
Wednesday
• English 7 – Review vocabulary lesson #28 by playing Jeopardy review game; students will also discuss the correct usage of commas in sentences; as a class, we will view several examples of comma usage and students will independently practice using commas correctly in sentences (textbook pages 230-231, 235-236)
• PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will complete a lesson on analyzing plot (lesson 17 in grade 11 book, p. 144-150) and discuss the lesson as a class when completed
Thursday
• English 7 – Vocabulary Quiz on lesson #28; Students will then look up definitions for the new list of words (lesson #29), and complete the worksheet and sentences for the new list
• PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will complete a lesson on analyzing plot (lesson 17 in grade 11 book, p. 144-150) and discuss the lesson as a class when completed
Friday
• English 7 – As a class, we will review the worksheets on comma usage together; students will then discuss using direct quotations in writing; students will view examples and practice using quotations independently and as a group; worksheet on quotations due Tuesday
• PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will complete lesson 18 in the grade 11 PSSA book on analyzing literary structures; when finished, students will discuss the outcome of the lesson together as a class
