4/14/14 – 4/18/14

Monday
  • Reading 8 (Even): Students will view the end of the movie, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” They will also complete the Venn Diagram to compare/contrast the movie and written play.

  •  Reading 7: Students will complete their setting and character representations by coloring in their pictures today in class. Students should turn these in today by the end of class. When finished, students will complete a writing assignment related to the novel.

  • Practical Literature 12: Students will finish their “coat of arms” project today and turn them in.

Tuesday
  • Reading 8 (Odd): Students will view the end of the movie, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” They will also complete the Venn Diagram to compare/contrast the movie and written play.

  • Reading 7: Students will turn in the writing assignment for Holes from yesterday. Students will then continue reading the next set of chapters in class together. They will complete study guide questions for these chapters as well.

  • Practical Literature 12: Students will begin “Macbeth.” They will take notes on Shakespeare and read an introductory section on the play. We will discuss this as a class.
Wednesday
  • Reading 8 (Even): As a class, we will discuss the Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the movie version to the written play. We will discuss student responses on the board together. As a class, we will discuss the poetry notes that students took down in their notebooks.

  •  Reading 7: Students will complete a second writing activity for Holes today during class.

  • Practical Literature 12: Students will begin reading the play, “Macbeth.” They will complete a study guide as they read as well.
Thursday
  • Reading 8 (Odd): As a class, we will discuss the Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the movie version to the written play. We will discuss student responses on the board together. As a class, we will discuss the poetry notes that students took down in their notebooks.

  • Reading 7: Students will continue reading “Holes” together as a class. We will read the next set of chapters together and students will complete the study guide questions as well.

  • Practical Literature 12: Students will continue reading “Macbeth” together as a class. We will discuss study guide questions together as well.
Friday – No School (Holiday)
