Monday (2/5): No School – Snow Day
Tuesday (2/6): Discuss first-read extension questions
together as a class for “Words Do Not Pay.” Examine the TDA prompt together and
develop a basic outline for the TDA response essay. It must be five paragraphs.
Final copy of the TDA is due on Tuesday (2/13). Revision of first TDA (Ban the
Ban and Soda’s a Problem But…) is due this Friday (2/9). Students will also receive
the study guide for Words Do Not Pay today. The study guide is homework, and it
is due on Wednesday of next week (2/14). The test will be on Friday (2/16).
Wednesday (2/7): Work on TDA essay in
class. Final copy is due on Tuesday (2/13).
Thursday (2/8): Work on TDA essay in class. Final copy is
due on Tuesday (2/13).
Friday (2/9): Work on TDA essay in class. Final copy is due on Tuesday (2/13).
Work on study guide for test. Study guide is due on Wednesday (2/14). Test will
be Friday (2/16).

(Study Island)
Thursday (2/8): Study Island (WIN time) – evaluating arguments:
due by end of the day today. Intro. and notes for next topic: meaning and tone.
Group session on meaning and tone. Meaning and tone is due by end of the class
on Wednesday (2/14).
Friday (2/9): Practice questions on
evaluating arguments and/or meaning and tone (Study Island WIN time).
