Monday
• English 7 – Review vocabulary unit 18 definitions, worksheet, and sentences; introduce the Iditarod writing prompt by discussing information on the race, etc.
• PSSA English 9/10 – Odd Day Groups - Students will read a second news article from CNN.com using the T2T reading strategy; students will then answer multiple choice questions and one open-ended question using the “winning formula” discussed during the last class.
Tuesday
• English 7 – Writing Prompt introduction and begin watching parts of “Iron Will.”
• PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups – Students will read a second news article from CNN.com using the T2T reading strategy; students will then answer multiple choice questions and one open-ended question using the “winning formula” discussed during the last class.
Wednesday
• English 7 – Finish watching “Iron Will” and work on rough draft of essay.
• PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will begin writing a 5 by 5 persuasive essay. Students will brainstorm and begin writing the rough draft of the essay.
Thursday
• English 7 – Vocabulary quiz for unit 18; unit 19 – definitions, worksheet, sentences; review worksheets from yesterday on verbs
• PSSA English 9/10 - Even Day Groups - Students will begin writing a 5 by 5 persuasive essay. Students will brainstorm and begin writing the rough draft of the essay.
Friday
• English 7 – Notes on progressive forms of verbs from the textbook and practice exercises; practice with writing with verbs
• PSSA English 9/10 - Odd Day Groups – Students will work on proofreading and revising their essays and write or type the final copy of the essay. Final copies of the essay are due next week.
